ILA Local 1233, President William Dudley

Appointed As Vice President

Of New Atlantic Coast District  - July 01, 2008

William Bernard Dudley began his career as a longshoreman along with other I-Card members in 1979.  Bernard has served on the Board of Trustees as well as a variety of other committees in our union. He has likewise held various positions, including Assistant Foreman, Stevedore at Port Newark, eventually becoming an ILA Dispatcher representing our Local at the New York Shipping Association, Inc.

In December of 2007m Bernard was re-elected to a third-term as President of ILA Local 1233. Also in July of 2007, while serving as a delegate at the 52nd Quadrennial Convention, he was appointed to the position of ILA International Representative. On July 1, 2008 President Dudley was appointed Atlantic Coast District Vice-President. As Atlantic Coast District Vice-President, Bernard has made a commitment to our Local, to the Atlantic Coast District, and to the entire International Union and the industry as a whole to maintain stability so we can build a rock solid foundation for the future for all our members, while maintaining respect for the cultures and ethnic backgrounds of all longshoremen.
