Ozzie Burton (on right) shown with I.L.A. member.

Reporter: What was the best part of the convention for you?

Ozzie: The feeling of enthusiasm and togetherness I felt among the I.L.A. members.

Reporter: Did you learn anything that could be applied to the local?

Ozzie: Keep your house in order. Keep your house tight. Make sure your bills, the local bills are paid. Longevity is looked upon favorable.

Reporter: What were some of the topics spoken about that interest you?

Ozzie: The up coming contract, tier wages, and taking the cap off the container royalty.

Reporter: What was it like to be with longshoremen from other ports?

Ozzie: Great! What an experience. You learn about different ports vs. your port. The kind of work they do in other ports like brake bulk vs. container. Ports moving to containerization whereas your port is already containerized.

Reporter: What would you like to tell others about the convention?

Ozzie: It is a must go, meaning they should go to one and experience for themselves. Four years from now they will have the convention again. Save your money so you can attend.

Reporter: Was there anything that could have been done better at the convention?

Ozzie: A better count of heads at the convention. There seem to have been an over flow of member's family.
