Rob Wilkins Gives His Thoughts On The I.L.A. Convention

Shown With Wife Linda In Florida

Reporter: What was the best part of the convention for you?

Rob: There were three things that tears it for me,(1) Anthony Scioscia, Senior Vice Presidnet of Labor Relations at Maersk Lines. He talked about much more work coming through the Suez Canal. (2) Judge Milton Mollen, Ethics Practice Counsel for the I.L.A. When he spoke, letting the guys know how things are on the waterfront with different locals. I thought that was very educational. (3) I think that everybody should have been there to hear Howard Goldstein, Esq. How he spoke about the current case between I.L.A. executive officers and the Federal government on R.I.C.O. Act charges. As my mother use to say "you could hear a rat pissing on cotton" when Mr. Goldstein was speaking. I thought it was outstanding how he explained how the R.I.C.O. Act worked.  Also, how different ones he thought were going to go to jail. That topped it off for me.

Reporter: Was there anything that could have been done better at the convention?

Rob: They could have used less politicians and more union speakers. All the politicians talked about was get out the vote, get out the vote, get out the vote.
