NYSA-ILA JOINT SAFETY VIOLATIONS PROGRAM

Formal citations for violations of safety rules, regulations and safety practices will be issued by employer representatives.

EXAMPLES OF SAFETY VIOLATIONS ARE AS FOLLOWS:

- Failure to wear personal protective equipment as required such as safety vests, hardhats, safety shoes, etc. will result in a      written safety violation.

 - Speeding, ignoring stop signs, erratic driving, passengers on powered industrial trucks or any equipment not designed for a passenger, unsafe conduct of any nature that experience has shown can cause serious personal injury and / or extensive damage to equipment or cargo are some examples of violations to safety rules and regulations.

THE PENALTIES UNDER THE NYSA-ILA SAFETY VIOLATIONS PROGRAM ARE AS FOLLOWS:

- THE FIRST OFFENSE will result in a written warning to the offender.

- THE SECOND OFFENSE will make the offender ineligible to be employed in the industry for one workday. (One day off without pay)

- THE THIRD OFFENSE will make the offender ineligible to be employed in the industry for a full workweek. (One week off without pay)

 - THE FOURTH AND EACH SUBSEQUENT OFFENSE will make the offender ineligible to be employed in the industry for two successive weeks. (Two weeks off without pay)
